Originally from Georgia, I moved to Colorado in January 2000.  At first an obsessive hang glider and paraglider pilot, I discovered climbing mountains was every bit as fun--and almost as dangerous.  A long, unplanned night on Longs Peak ten years ago started me on my journey with mountain search and rescue.  I am now in the rescue rank of Alpine Rescue Team, where I help organize trainings and am on the regional Mountain Rescue Association board.  Seven years ago, I made the mistake of reading the book "Born to Run", which started me on my current passion of trail running in the mountains. I have completed six hundred mile races and countless shorter distances.  I am really excited to share both passions with others through Team EMS.
